Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Rise and Shine! Six Tips to Getting out of Bed in the Morning.
If you're a mom, it's likely you don't have any choice but to be an early riser. If the kids are in school, you're the one who has to make sure they actually get out of bed and get moving instead of hit their snooze button a dozen times. If you have children who aren't yet in school, they probably come bouncing onto your bed at the crack of dawn demanding breakfast or just for hugs. Either way, sleeping in is a luxury reserved for summer vacation and times when the kids spend the night at Grandma's.
Maybe you're tempted to climb back into bed after the kids leave for school or when your little ones lay down for their morning nap. But because you work from home, you need to get busy. Getting an early start on your day not only ensures you'll be more productive but will give you quality time later on to spend with your family instead of trying to finish up your work.
Here are a few tips that may help you get (and stay) up in the morning:
o Early to bed, early to rise - You night owls and late-night television addicts don't like this tip but it really is the best thing you can do to make getting up in the morning a little less painful. Even going to bed one hour earlier can do wonders. Besides, with so many full-episode shows available online, you can always catch up on your favorites over the weekend.
o Take your vitamins! If you have a hard time waking up in the morning and tend to feel sluggish throughout the day, you may have a vitamin deficiency. A daily multi-vitamin may be all you need to keep your energy levels consistent, give your body the nutrition it needs, and hop out of bed every morning.
o Eat healthy. We all know it's a proven fact that the healthier food we eat, the better we feel. So why do we keep eating junk? I'm not pointing fingers, here, I'm just as guilty! Instead of eating an enormous bowl of ice cream right before bed, try an apple or a small bowl of popcorn. Eating healthier, especially at bedtime, will not only provide you with a more restful night's sleep, but will prevent morning sluggishness.
o Exercise. It may seem like exercising would make it harder to get out of bed in the morning due to sore and aching muscles. But, in fact, the opposite is true. Exercise helps you fall asleep faster and sleep more deeply so you're more rested come morning!
o Limit Caffeine. I don't like this one either (I love coffee and Diet Coke!), but it truly does help. Limit your caffeine, especially within a couple hours of falling asleep.
o Power nap. Allow yourself a brief power nap either late morning or early afternoon. Simply laying down on the couch and resting your eyes for twenty minutes often does the trick to refresh and reenergize so you can get back to work.
Try to save your late nights for special occasions. We've all hear how regularly getting eight hours of sleep every night is essential to keep our bodies healthy and energized. If you try these suggestions and you're still having problems getting enough sleep or with sluggishness, see your doctor.
