Your Breakfast Determines the Course of Metabolism And Why We Need Alkaline Foods

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Your Breakfast Determines the Course of Metabolism And Why We Need Alkaline Foods.

In our time, burdened with illnesses caused by modern-day civilization, many people have the course of their physical and psychological health predetermined upon waking in the morning. Does the day begin with instant psychological stress for the soul followed by a "Greek breakfast" for our physicality? For many men and women in the generation under fifty, the Greek breakfast is "cool" and "in".

Maybe you belong to the older generation and aren't familiar with this "Greek breakfast". It consists of a cup of strong black coffee and a cigarette. That makes one feel alive after a short night and ready for another stressful day. That's why one cleverly begins with immediate physical and psychological stress, and insists on continuing this familiar rhythm.

Fortunately, this Greek breakfast is more likely the exception than the norm on most breakfast tables. Yet, unfortunately, the other four breakfast types are not more "healthy". In fact, they give way to metabolic problems, rather than strengthening our metabolism, immune system, and overall physical health. We differentiate between the four breakfast types as follows:

The Gluten Breakfast

The gluten breakfast is the most common white flour breakfast with bread and buns, and it is also the crunchy-muesli-breakfast. People who are allergic to gluten should avoid this kind of breakfast, and many people who suffer from digestive problems should reduce their intake of grains. After being consumed over years and decades, gluten has the tendency to congeal, and become lodged in our organs. These constrictions are the reason for the rise of high blood pressure, which reveals itself over the decades of our lives. This rise in physical pressure can have many effects such as inflammations or physical stress, and also the constrictions and congestions of our blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, and other conductors such as the fallopian tube, ureter, or seminal duct.

The Milk Breakfast

The daily milk breakfast equally contributes to constrictions and congestions of our vessels. Milk does not only contain a high degree of congestive components, but also many elements of phosphate and the enzyme catalase. The high amount of phosphate is the reason that milk and milk product are not calcium providers, but actually calcium robbers.

The catalase in cows' milk is an oxygen robber and sets in motion all kinds of deficiency diseases. Catalase reduces the intake of oxygen into our blood, and therefore into our whole organism. However, oxygen is the great receptor for all substances reaching into our organism.

Our body as a whole consists of 80% oxygen. This element is the main axis of our entire metabolism. Even our bones chemically consist mainly of oxygen.

The element oxygen is a so called "negative element." It doesn't mean it is a bad element, it means it is an "absorbing" one. Diseases like iron deficiency anaemia are solved in no time; if one eliminates milk and milk products while introducing oxygen therapies, such as the haematoma oxygen therapy or a pointed supply of ionic oxygen.

The Sugar Breakfast

The ingredients of a sugar breakfast rapidly ferment within our bodies, causing many negative consequences. Bread and buns themselves are derived from a fermentation process. The huge consumption of sugar in jams, nut spreads, chocolate drinks and other drinks introduces constant alcohol fermentation in the intestines. Over the years this hidden inebriation of our youth may be the less observed reason our young people tap into an over-consumption of alcohol.

The constant overload of bad alcohol derived from the fermentation in the small intestines in the organism of the child has already lowered the IQ level and the whole spirit and body performance levels.

Children like the typical toast or white flour bread with chocolate spread, which contains much sugar and fat. The result is our children become overweight and weak, while the acidity of the body increases, leading to diabetes and excess weight. The vessels become burdened with sticky gluten, and fungal diseases will also rise.

Due to the sugar portion and the missing fibre in the diet, the blood sugar level will rise. After that, the insulin level will rise to transfer the sugar and fat into the cells. The blood sugar level then rapidly drops and the brain again signals food cravings. New energy has to be activated to overcome the low level of energy. If again sweets, coke, energy drinks are consumed, the whole dangerous cycle is repeated, and the blood sugar levels again play roller-coaster. Boredom and lack of motivation rotates with aggressiveness and hyper activity. Soon there is the need for "helpful" psychological drugs.

The Salty Breakfast

Business people know this breakfast as the "New York breakfast." It consists of a plate of scrambled eggs, white bread with fried sausages and fried ham. The 'normal' salty breakfast consists of ham and sausage, egg with salt and pepper, and tasty cheeses.

The salt lovers normally aren't aware that the two kidneys generally are only able to eliminate daily 5-6 grams common salt. Notice, this is in reference to both kidneys! This so called "salt barrier" causes a salt congestion, which manifests itself as lard fat in the kidneys and then as lard fat in the intestines. With a continuous excessive consumption of salt and subsequent accumulation of waste products, cellulite, back tension, causes damaged intervertebral discs; in the end these so called "new hips" are further steps of a career ladder, which all began with an overload of the kidneys. There are two recommendations for salt lovers in restoring internal balance. The first is to reduce the salt intake. The second well-meaning advice is to strengthen the two kidneys in their ability to release acidity and sodium chloride. This strengthening takes place through an extensive provision of omni molecular vital substances. For example: zinc is a great support to the kidneys in eliminating acids and poisoning salts. Now we come to the fifth type of breakfast.

The Gluten Free and Lactose Free Vital Substances Breakfast

This fifth breakfast is a kind of "quinta essentia" for our health. Greece in the old days knew four elements--water, earth, fire, and air--while searching for thousands of years for the fifth element, the "quinta essentia".

How does the best possible "quinta essentia" breakfast look like? It is a salt free, dairy free, sugar free, and gluten free breakfast. It is also not a raw breakfast, it will be cooked for a short time, and therefore digestible and absorbable for all constitution types, as well for babies, seniors and people with allergies. This breakfast is mineral rich and filled with vital substances. It is an ideal metabolism starter. It is composed of non-allergenic gluten free seeds such as millet, buckwheat, amaranth, sweet almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, which are providers of high quality fatty acids.

Such a breakfast is an integral part of an omni molecular supply of vital substances for our organism providing a health start in the early morning. With such a nutrient-rich supply we strengthen our immune system and support our organism in overcoming the many allergies in our time. It is also the ideal breakfast for an anti fungus diet, and for weight loss. It is a breakfast with a high density of nutritional value, but without empty calories.

Of course, such a breakfast is a helpful tool for regeneration, in any convalescence, and for any high performance sportsman, for any person who suffers digestive weaknesses, and of course, for our children and babies from months 10 until months 12 years old. It is a breakfast without any additives and of course, without any refined sugar.

I have called this fifth breakfast "MorgenStund". In doing so I followed a German proverb "The early bird catches the worm". In the early morning, one sets the course of metabolism for a day of stress and sluggishness, or for a day of radiant happiness and vibrant health, where we have an abundance of creative energy to accomplish our day's work. I am the intellectual father of this breakfast. The ingredients were created by my brilliant team of dieticians and my beloved friend and Co-author of my books, Josef Lohkaemper.

Morgenstund is teeming with a rich array of vital substances and nutrients... Your entire physical and mental health will greatly benefit from this powerful morning start.

Will Fad Diets Ever Go Away

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Will Fad Diets Ever Go Away.

Even if you've never tried a fad diet yourself, I'm pretty sure you know someone who has. These diets were popular long before the Internet made it easy for people to pass them around. In fact, I can remember eating boiled eggs and bacon, the main foods on a fad diet popular at the time, way back when I was in high school - and that was a very long time ago.

Did it work? Yes, I lost the 5 pounds I wanted to lose. And then I gained it back again, and more.

In fact, it now seems clear that anyone who goes on a fad die will be adding fat in the long run, not losing it. And the fat they gain after the fad diet is over may be even harder to get rid of than "normal" fat, and may somehow encourage the body to keep gaining weight years afterwards. How many people do you know who keep going on the latest diet, yet they seem to keep getting bigger instead of smaller? Now, scientists may know why.

A recent study done by Swedish researchers may have discovered why so many people who lose weight on fad diets regain the weight, plus a bit extra - and why they can never seem to get rid of the extra pounds. The scientists studied the effects of binge eating. Binging on high-calorie food is extremely common after someone falls off a very-low-calorie diet.

The study, published in the journal Nutrition & Metabolism, asked volunteers to overeat for a few weeks on high-calorie fast food, and the participants quickly gained an average of about 14 pounds. After the weight-gain portion of the study, the volunteers went back to eating normally.

Six months later, most of the participants had lost an average of 11 pounds, bringing them back - almost - to their original weight. Unfortunately, within 12 months, they had put on an average of 3.3 pounds, and after two years they were an average of 7 pounds heavier than they were before the study began. Members of a control group showed no change in weight over that time.

The study appears to show that there are long-term effects on the body when someone binges for even a short time, making it more difficult to maintain an optimum weight.

If you or someone you know regularly goes on extremely low-calorie, food restricted diets - which describes most fad diets - then you also know that fad diets are almost always followed by a short period when the dieter eats almost everything in sight.

It really can't be helped. You've just spent a week or two starving yourself, and that naturally causes you to think almost incessantly about food - the more calorie-rich the food, the more often it occupies your mind. Then, like a drowning person gasping for breath the second his head is above water, you fall off your diet and head to the nearest fast food joint for a burger and a Coke. With fries, naturally. Maybe a milk shake for dessert. The fat lost during the week of starvation is all gained back again, and the extra you put on may never go away.

But you can be assured that the fad diets themselves will never go away, because the promise of fast weight loss is just to alluring to ignore. Even if the promise is false.

Why Eating More Often is Better For You

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Why Eating More Often is Better For You.

The alarm clock goes off. You slug your way out of bed, still half asleep. You glance back at the bed one last time and wish that the warm embrace of the covers was an option, but it's not. You jump into the shower, which only half wakes you up. You barely have enough time to get dressed, skip breakfast, and get to work 5 minutes before you're supposed to be there.

On your lunch break, you finally have an hour to yourself. You hustle out to your car and you rationalize to yourself that you can eat a hamburger and fries because "you deserve it, it's been a rough day and you just want something good". You scarf down a McDonald's Big Mac and large fries in almost half the time it took them to cook it. You finish it off with a Coke and then it happens:

You immediately wish you hadn't done that.

On your way back into work, you suck in your stomach because you feel like the high calorie food you just ate added about 10 pounds. You feel full, but not the good kind of full. You feel bloated. You feel like your abdomen is sticking out several more inches than it was before your lunch break.

You tell yourself that this is the last straw. "Tomorrow", you say, "I'm getting a salad. I'm cutting out the soda and I'm drinking water all day."

Your long, hectic, exhausting work day finally comes to an end. You head home from work to your spouse, watch some TV and then dinner time rolls around. You tell yourself the same thing you did at lunch time. "Ya' know what? I work hard. I deserve a good, high fat meal." The pattern repeats itself as you wish you hadn't eaten that dinner.

You finally go to bed, wake up and run through the exact same routine the next day.

Sound familiar? Is this you?

Do you rationalize eating unhealthy, or use the excuse that you don't have time to eat healthier? You're not alone. In fact, millions of Americans are running through this daily pattern all the time. How do I know? I used to be one of them.

It's amazing how much a few small changes in your lifestyle can impact your overall health. Do you want to decrease your risk of hypertension(high blood pressure)? Do you want to become one of the less likely candidates for a heart attack later in life?

If you're a human being, the the answer is 'YES! OF COURSE I DO!'.

But, what can you do to start off on the right track? Well, the first thing you need to do is convince yourself that you're doing this for health reasons. I know everyone wants to look good, but changing your lifestyle for cosmetic reasons can accumulate into long-term eating disorders. The health reasons to get fit far outweigh the cosmetic benefits.

If you can convince yourself that you're doing this for the long-run, and not just to get that waistline down before summer comes, you'll be more likely to keep the weight off.

In this article, I'm going to discuss the nutrition side of the spectrum. I'll talk about the other factors in my upcoming articles.

So, what immediate changes can you make in your diet to start seeing the results? As a personal trainer, the first nutrition advice I always give my clients is "PORTIONS, PORTIONS, PORTIONS". What's that mean?

Eat more, eat less.

That's a direct contradiction, isn't it?

Basically, eat more often. 5 times a day is what I'd recommend. Eat your 3 regular meals with two snacks in between. In turn, this should help prevent you from over-eating. Here's a break down of what your day should consist of:

1. Breakfast - Start the day off strong! Don't skip breakfast. Even if you only have enough time to grab a banana and chug down an orange juice, then do it!

2. Snack - Your first snack should be between breakfast and lunch. I'd highly recommend staying healthy with fruit, yogurt, or low calorie crackers. This snack helps you curb your appetite away from those mid-morning munchy cravings you may get. Now that you've eaten breakfast and curbed your appetite with a snack, that Big Mac at lunch doesn't seem as desirable, does it?

3. Lunch - The goal of eating more often is to drive down the amount of food you eat during your binging hours. If at all possible, go for the more nutritious foods on the menu if you're eating out. If you do happen to order something unhealthy, try to change it up a bit. Substitute a salad for your side. Stay away from the soda and get a water instead. Don't upsize it-- Remember, you've already eaten twice today, so you shouldn't be too hungry at this point.

4. Snack - Between lunch and dinner, have yourself another snack. This warrants the same reasons as the mid-morning snack. Your goal is to curb your appetite.

5. Dinner - You've made it this far! Since you've eaten the snack a few hours earlier, your stomach isn't starving for food-- hopefully. This will prevent you from over-indulging at the dinner table.

A few more tips-- Eat slowly. This allows your brain to register to your body that you're full. This process usually takes about 20 minutes.

Try to stay away from or limit your consumption of what I deem the BIG 3: Trans and saturated fats, sodium, and sugars.

Trans and saturated fats are found in most junk food, as well as fast-food and fried foods. Sodium can be found in sodas, several canned goods, and of course, your salt shaker. Cakes, candy, and most sweets contain sugars. Try to limit your consumption of these and you'll have more success in attaining you goals.

What Nourishes Your Bodys Cells The Best - Dark Cola Drinks or Water

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts What Nourishes Your Bodys Cells The Best - Dark Cola Drinks or Water.

In just a moment we are going to look at the ingredients of Coke and Diet Coke (as representatives for the dark cola industry) and how they nourish your new cells. You see, every day you replace 1% of your existing cells with new cells. It is what I call "The 1% Solution!" to better health. You have the ability to directly impact the health of your new cells by the choices you make in what you eat and drink. Now, before we examine how dark colas and water nourish your cells, I want to talk about Indiana Jones.

I'm a big fan of the Indiana Jones movie series with Harrison Ford. With the buzz about the 4th installment being filmed it reminded me of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!" If you remember, Harrison Ford had to successfully complete several tasks to find the chamber that contained the Holy Grail. When he finally entered the cave where the Holy Grail was located it was being guarded by the last of the appointed Crusaders. After all the action that takes place, Harrison Ford is in a position to choose the cup he thinks Christ drank from at the Last Supper. This last Crusader says to him, "Choose Wisely!"

Now, you might be thinking what does this have to do with our examination of Coke and Diet Coke and the soft drink industry. Well, at the time of the movie, the Coca-Cola Company made a highly entertaining and successful TV ad featuring this same last Crusader as a mom tried to reach her refrigerator to get a cold drink. As she reached into the fridge to quench her thirst, the Crusader says to her, "Choose Wisely!" And, what was her choice? A refreshing can of Coke!

Well, let's see how wise her choice really was!

Here is the list of ingredients on a can of Coke in the order that they appear:

o Water

o High Fructose Corn Syrup / (Aspartame in Diet Coke)

o Caramel Color

o Phosphoric Acid

o Natural Flavors

o Caffeine

Ingredients are listed in the order of greatest volume or greatest percentage of that ingredient in relationship to the overall product. Water is a good thing and since it is listed first that means that it is in greatest volume. We'll talk about water and its importance at the end of this article. For now, let's focus on the next ingredient.

High Fructose Corn Syrup - The process for making high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) out of corn was developed in the 1970s. It is a complicated chemical and enzymatic process that converts corn starch into HFCS which has a final concentration of about 55% fructose and 45% glucose with the exact same sweetness and taste as sucrose. Since many consumers see the word "Fructose" they associate it with fruit and assume that it is healthier than sugar.

Dr. Meira Field and a team of investigators from the USDA decided to find out if this assumption was true. They fed rats a high amount of sucrose which is composed of glucose and fructose. These rats developed multiple health problems especially when they were deficient in certain nutrients, such as copper. So, the next question was whether the health problems were caused by the glucose component or the fructose component. They repeated their studies with two new groups of rats. One group received high amounts of glucose and the other group received high amounts of fructose. The glucose group was unaffected.

The fructose group had severe, life threatening results! The male rats developed anemia, high cholesterol and heart hypertrophy. Additionally, the male rats had delayed testicular development. The female rats were not as severely affected, but they were unable to produce live young. From this research, Dr. Field made the following statement:

"The medical profession thinks fructose is better for diabetics than sugar, but every cell in the body can metabolize glucose. However, all fructose must be metabolized in the liver. The livers of the rats on the high fructose diet looked like the livers of alcoholics, plugged with fat and cirrhotic."

HFCS contains more fructose than sugar. Plus, this fructose is more immediately available because it is not bound up in sucrose.

Aspartame - This ingredient is a sweetener used to replace high fructose corn syrup or sugar. When digested, aspartame breaks down into three chemicals:

o Aspartic acid is a toxin that can cause serious chronic neurological disorders.

o Phenylalanine can decrease serotonin levels in the brain leading to emotional disorders, depression, and poor quality sleep.

o Methanol is a poison that is metabolized by the liver into formaldehyde and formic acid. Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin, carcinogen, and mutagen. Formic acid is the active chemical in bee and ant stings. Methanol is a cumulative poison. It symptoms include headaches, shooting pains, memory lapses, numbness, and nerve inflammation. It can cause blurred vision, retinal damage, and blindness.

Ralph Walton MD of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine did a survey of aspartame studies. Here is his conclusion:

"Of the 166 studies felt to have relevance for questions of human safety, 74 had NutraSweet industry related funding and 92 were independently funded. One hundred percent of the industry funded research attested to aspartame's safety, whereas 92 percent of the independently funded research identified a problem."

Because of these chemical side effects, some soft drink companies will replace aspartame with saccharin. In 1978, the National Academy of Sciences concluded that saccharin is a potential cancer-causing agent in humans as well as having the ability to enhance the carcinogenic effects of other cancer causing agents. The FDA's position is that saccharin should not be used in food. Since soft drinks are not technically considered food that restriction does not apply.

Caramel Color - This ingredient is hard to get a handle on. The process for making caramel color is pretty straight forward. It is obtained by heating sugar until a brown color and characteristic flavor develops. I could not find any research on this ingredient with any definitive positives or negatives.

Phosphoric Acid - This ingredient is used because it creates an acidic medium which enhances the absorption of carbon dioxide to give your drink more fizz. Fizz in your drink might be nice but what affect does phosphoric acid have on your body.

To start we need to look at the pH level of Coke caused by the phosphoric acid. Coca-Cola is considered a "Super Acidifying Food" with a pH of 2. To understand this we need talk about pH. The pH scale measures the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a substance and ranges from 0 to 14:

o 0 is complete acid

o 0 to 6.99 is acidic

o 7 is neutral or the perfect balance between acid and alkaline

o 7.01 to 13.99 is alkaline

o 14 is complete alkaline

The lower on the scale below 7 the more acidic something is and the higher on the scale above 7 the more alkaline something is.

Now this is what gets most people confused. The pH scale is not arithmetical but logarithmic. Logarithmic means that the values separating each unit are not of equal value along the scale but increases in proportion to their distance from a pH of 7. For example, a pH reading of 6 is 10 times more acidic than 7, but a pH of 5 is not 20 times more acidic but 100 times more acidic. If you're catching on, then a pH reading of 4 is 1000 times more acidic than a pH of 7. Given this fact, what would seem like a small change in pH and be no big deal is, in reality, a big deal to your body.

Although some organs and organ fluids (like the gastric region) have a higher or lower pH than what is normal for the body, your body functions best when the pH of the internal biochemical environment (your blood, lymph and intracellular fluids) is between 7.365 and 7.390. If you understand the pH scale above, then you can see that the body likes to keep itself slightly alkaline and in a very narrow range. Anything outside this range causes stress on the body. The farther outside this range, then the stress on the body goes up exponentially.

Since Coke has a pH of 2, it is 100,000 times more acidic than a pH of 7. This has a huge impact on your system. Your body will use its alkaline minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium to neutralize the acid to return your internal biochemical environment back to normal. Compounding this acidic problem is that your body also maintains a balanced concentration of phosphorus, calcium, and potassium in the bloodstream to provide the right combination for building new bones and maintaining old ones. The shock of incoming phosphorus with zero calcium causes the calcium levels in the blood to decline. This triggers your body to dissolve calcium from the bones to restore this balance. This reaction, continued over time, leads to osteoporosis. Additionally, the body usually dissolves more calcium than needed so the excess calcium is eliminated in the following order:

1. Excretion in the urine.

2. Deposited in the joints leading to osteoarthritis and bursitis.

3. Formation into stones such as kidney stones.

4. Deposited in the arteries leading to calcified plaque.

Because phosphoric acid is such a strong acid, it reduces the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Hydrochloric acid is used for the digestion of protein and fats as well as aiding in the absorption of minerals. When hydrochloric acid is reduced inadequate digestion occurs which can result in bloating and flatulence. Additionally, mineral absorption is hindered which can lead to anemia (lack of iron) and accelerate the trend toward osteoporosis. Plus, low stomach acidity allows harmful bacteria, yeasts and parasites to grow which can affect your health.

Finally, the March/April 2007 edition of General Dentistry contains a report that shows, even with minimal exposure, phosphoric acid in soda causes tooth enamel erosion.

Natural Flavors - This ingredient is even harder to get a handle on than Caramel Color. Technically, natural flavors are chemicals or a set of chemicals extracted from a natural substance, usually a plant or animal, without any chemical modifications. Companies are not required to disclose what those chemicals are or the procedure that they use to create the "Natural Flavors."

Caffeine - This ingredient has the ability to stimulate mental alertness, overcome fatigue, and enhance endurance. Sounds great! But, it is an addictive chemical that comes with a cost to your body. As a stimulant it can be accompanied by constriction of the cerebral arteries, rapid heartbeat, and high blood pressure. Caffeine also causes the release of adrenaline which increases blood sugar. The pancreas reacts by secreting insulin to keep the blood sugar level stable by driving blood sugar into the cells for oxidation and energy production. However, excess blood sugar in the cells will be stored as fat.

People who consistently consume soft drinks high in sugar with caffeine constantly create an unbalanced cycling process that puts undue stress on both the adrenal glands and the pancreas. Over time this has an impact on their ability to function properly resulting in potential health issues such as arthritis and diabetes.

Aluminum - This ingredient is not listed on any soft drink can since the manufacturer does not add it to the liquid mixture at the time of manufacturing. However, over time, phosphoric acid is strong enough to eat away enough aluminum from the container to leach this metal into the liquid contents. Aluminum is deposited in the brain and bone tissue. In the brain, aluminum results in the formation of neurofibrillary tangles or lesions similar to those who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, aluminum exposure increases the break down of the bone structure while at the same time reducing new bone formation.

Water - This ingredient is the number one ingredient in all sodas. Thus, you might think that this is a good thing. Given the consumption of soda in the United States, it is interesting that experts estimate that 75% of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration. WHY? Because most of the contents of a soda must be processed by the liver! All chemicals, all artificial sweeteners, and most sugars especially fructose need to be metabolized by the liver. Most of the water in the soda goes to help the liver detoxify the body. This means that very little of the water actually ends up in the cells to help them function properly.

I have a more extensive article on water which you can find on the internet. Briefly, water is a necessary and foundational part of our lives. Every biochemical action that takes place in your body takes place in water. By itself, pure water contains no calories, no artificial sweeteners and colorings, and is fat-free, cholesterol-free, low in sodium and not acidic.

Summary!

You've been presented with a lot of information. To help summarize my findings, here is a side-by-side comparison of the potential health benefits of dark cola drinks vs. water.

Dark Cola Drinks: None

Water: Most significant factor in losing fat!

Serves as an appetite suppressant!

Helps the body metabolize stored fat!

Helps to reduce water retention!

Medium for the body's biochemistry!

Aids in maintaining proper acid-alkaline balance!

Here is a side-by- side comparison of the potential health risks from dark cola drinks vs. water:

Water: None

Dark Cola Drinks:

Alzheimer's disease

Anemia

Arthritis

Bursitis

Calcified arterial plaque

Depression

Diabetes

Emotional disorders

Fertility problems in both men and women

Headaches

Heart hypertrophy

High blood pressure

High cholesterol

Kidney stones

Neurological disorders

Osteoarthritis

Osteoporosis

Overweight/Obesity

Poor quality sleep

Stroke

Tooth decay

Now, I'm not saying that the soda industry is the primary cause of all these health issues. What I am saying is that many of the ingredients in soda have been linked to the above health issues. I find it interesting that since 1970 as soda consumption has increased, along with an increase in processed foods that contain many of the same ingredients plus more, there has been a correlating increase in all of the above wellness issues.

Remember, the goal of this article is to understand how the ingredients of dark colas will nourish your new cells. Will they provide good nutrition or poor nutrition to the 1% of cells that are new each day? I think it's pretty clear what your choice should be. So, as the aged Crusader from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade stands next to your refrigerator encouraging you to "Choose Wisely!" grab the bottled water and not the aluminum can of Coke!

Until next time, may we both age youthfully!

Exercises.

You can write a whole library about exercises for fat loss or weight loss in general.

Some people are saying that cardio exercises are the best fat loss exercises.

Cardio or aerobic exercises are very effective to burn fat fast.

Think about jogging, wall climbing and bicycling these exercises are very effective

to burn your fat.

I will even say more if you don't apply them you won't be successful.

To be honest with you I am not overweighted but I read a lot about fat loss.

But I know this if I have to much body fat I would do cardio every day of the week

and if possible multiple times a day until I am happy with my weight.

This is the reason why most people fail they follow a diet but they don't do exercises.

Another fat burning exercise you must do is weight lifting.

Perhaps you associate lifting weight with bodybuilders but the truth is that weight lifting is one of the best fat burning exercises.

It is very simple the more muscles you have the more fat you will burn.

Self motivation

Most people fail in life because they don't write down their goals.

Believe it or not but goals properly planted into the subconscious mind produce action.

If you want to lose fat fast you will have to think about your goals all the time.

Do not get me wrong here there is no such thing as thinking yourself thin in the literally sentence.

But do yourself a favour and ban "I can't" from your vocabulary.

Instead of saying I can't say no to ice cream say I love to eat healthy foods.

Try it out and you will be happy with the results.

I hope you get an answer now on what is the best way to burn fat fast?

In fact losing fat fast is simple but not easy.

However this information, although valuable, is only very basic if you really want to lose fat fast you will have to do more research.

Weight Loss Tips - Fast And Easy

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Weight Loss Tips - Fast And Easy.

I get messages from my subscribers and friends both, saying they just don't have the time to eat right or exercise. This not only happens at the beginning of the year, but all year long. I do in fact see a rise at the beginning of the New Year from those people who make their resolutions a weight loss resolution. These are regular people like you or I. They are busy moms and dads, professionals, young adults and even late teen students. All with one thing in common: they can find no time in their jammed packed days, evenings or nights.

With all the responsibilities and time constraints, more and more say they just can't keep themselves healthy enough to get down to their optimal weight. Most are telling me with their schedules, they are finding it hard to even maintain their current weight and as time has been passing, they have been putting on more and more. Some are moving up a little at a time, others are seeing jumps in their weight or gaining weight in stages. That is where I fit in. Is there a way we can all live healthier and exercise as part of our everyday life?

When most people think about weight loss, we all think about the things we always see and hear. Dieting and Exercise! We relate these two things as TIME. The truth of the matter and the "FACT" about them is not talked about, is they do not necessarily go together. They are two very different things. Nutritional intake and exercise don't really go together like we are taught to believe.

After talking to experts in weight loss, all have said the person looking to loose weight or even maintain the weight they are, should look into and have a nutritional plan. If a person has and follows a nutritional plan and uses no exercise, they will in fact loose weight. Provided they have no medical issues or underlying physical problems. It is when someone falls off the wagon, for a lack of better term, these experts see the weight gains. When people don't follow the plan, but workout or exercise faithfully, most don't loose any weight. But they can't see it because they may not know the importance of the nutritional plan. If you have tried working out but not changing your diet, you may already know this to be true. Make your eating the priority. It may take you a lot less time.

Now, knowing this is so important in weight loss, you can make some changes in your nutrition that may be easier for you to cope with and help with the weight you are trying to loose. The experts have seen people loose as much as twenty pounds with these changes with no formal exercise regiment.

Get rid of as much or all the dairy in your diet. The more you get rid of the better. This is the number one reason why people are having problems losing weight. We were always told, "Dairy does a body good". This is very far from the truth. It causes digestive problems for most people, clogs arteries and inflammation in the body and causes weight gain. Once again, most don't know this. Get your calcium from supplements and green leafy vegetables. If you have been gaining weight or have tried with trouble in the past, you may see automatic weight loss without dairy intake.

Another change would be to drink only water. If you can eliminate sugar intake along with all the sugar and diet soda and drinks, this will cause a weight loss dramatically. Some studies have shown a loss of as much as fifteen pounds with the elimination of diet coke form your diet. This study was done without changing any other part of a persons diet. Although this along with other is suppose to be "Diet" the sweeteners in these drinks can be worse for your body than sugar. Stay away from Equal or Aspartame, Splenda and Sweet & Low. These artificial sweeteners can be toxic to your body and cause you to gain more weight than sugar itself.

Try to use better judgment when it comes to snacks throughout the day and evenings. Fruits and nuts are a quick choice you can make while in a rush for something to eat in your grocery stores. If you find you are buying fruit and often throwing it away, try buying them in a canned form or even in the pop top forms many have turned to.

Most of the super stores out there today have health food sections. Make a point of going through them and trying some new things you may find to be filling yet healthy for you. Take some time to find healthier foods to eat. Look into a nutritional program for yourself. Stick with the intake that is recommended.

You may find that losing weight will not be as hard and time consuming as you may think. If you can add in some exercise, that would be a plus, but just eating differently can make all the difference you are looking for. Try not to make this harder than it has to be. Don't use time as your reason to do nothing about weight loss.

Weight Gainer Powders - The Fast Track to Getting Fat

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Weight Gainer Powders - The Fast Track to Getting Fat.

I get the question at least two to three times a week. How do I put on weight fast? It's usually asked with a sense of urgency that makes me feel sorry for the person asking...having sat in their shoes at one time (most likely in early high school if I can remember correctly), desperate to put not be the "skinny guy" any more. As many of you are told when you head out to your local nutrition store (unfortunately stocked with people who know nothing about nutrition in most cases!), I was told that the ONLY way I'd be able to put on weight was to start pounding the powder... the weight gain powders.

I have to admit, I was actually excited when I brought home my first container of this stuff. It looked like I was getting ready to head to a construction site with a bucket of cement mix. Who knew it would wind up tasting like it also? I was excited to FINALLY be able to put my scrawny days of having no muscle behind me. The secret was in the morter...I mean....powder!

Well, after taking it religiously for weeks and months, the only thing I noticed different about me was that I was losing the only thing that I really had going for me (my muscle definition) and it was doing nothing to build muscle. It wasn't supposed to be this way. I was supposed to put on pounds of new lean muscle. Fat chance. Lean muscle? No. Fat? Absolutely. That ended that experiment. From that day forward I decided to find the real way to add muscle without the bulk and believe me, knowing what I do now, it's easy to see WHY those 10lb tubs of powder are better used for lifting when you don't have dumbbells nearby than they are for putting on weight.

Their number one problem lies in what's in this stuff! Have you ever really looked at the typical nutritional content in these things?!? Let's just say that you might find a healthier combination in a fast food restaurant than you would in these things...and that's no exaggeration! Almost every one of the "weight gainers" has at least 200-300 grams of carbohydrates per serving! Now you know I'm not against carbs... not in the least bit, but I am against sugary carbs. Well, the sugar content in these powders is almost the entire 200-300 grams!! Can you believe that? Just to put that in perspective that is around 6-7 colas that you're consuming every day if you take this stuff daily! If that's not bad enough...most recommend you mix them with whole milk (just in case the fat in the powder wasn't high enough to begin with!). Geez and I wonder why I was losing definition?!? Not to mention, these things are supposed to help you build muscle. They are filled with nothing but empty calories. Even if there is some protein in there it's like the "needle in the haystack" effect. Good luck trying to find it and really, with that much sugar drowning it out, not really sure you're doing yourself any favors with that protein anyway. That's like having a diet coke after eating fettuccine Alfredo for dinner!

So I guess you can see the direction I'm going here with my answer to this weekly question I get. I'm not a fan at all. The way to natural and pure lean muscle growth (without having to unhealthily bulk up first) is to eat...guess what...real food. Supplements definitely have their place. In fact, the right ones will make your job of eating 6 times a day much much easier, and in the process, building pure muscle will become a cinch. The right supplements have 200-400 calories in them, not 2000-4000! So ditch those pails of pudge and use them to either feed a small army of twenty or to stand on when you need to change a lightbulb!

Stay Strong,

Jeff

Weight Can Make You Happy

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Weight Can Make You Happy.

I have always been very careful not to blindly accept the general beliefs of the mainstream current thought forms of my I have always been very careful not to blindly accept the general beliefs of the mainstream current thought forms of my culture. When I observe everyone doing something I am cautious about following in their footsteps. Actually, I am of the opinion that many concepts which we are encouraged to believe as absolute truth are, in reality, ideas that are not only false, but harmful to our well-being. One such area that has overwhelmingly consumed, no pun intended, the entire population is weight. The Weight Loss industry, in 2009, was a $350 billion plus industry. Now, let us stop and think about this. No one who is making money from weight loss products really wants you to lose weight or else how else will they keep making money. Diets do not work for most people, since after the desired weight is reached, the person usually returns to their former eating habits and, over time, the excess weight returns.

Let's back up a little and define what exactly we mean by overweight. I have been contemplating the term for quite some time now and it seems to me that our culture has created an ideal, as do many other cultures, and that ideal has to do with body size. Now we all know that everyone is physically different, some tall, others short and the rest in between, but we are all being encouraged to weigh a certain amount based primarily on our height. Therefore, we can safely assume that expecting everyone to be the same size and weight is an unattainable goal and doesn't even make sense. Don't be duped about weight and the unwarranted negative self image associated with certain body types. Don't fall for it. The more you focus on excess weight, the more it will stick around.

The first step in the process of creating an overweight customer base is to identify what will be considered perfect or ideal. This is simple since our society admires movie stars and models as the standard of beauty. Of course in other cultures the standard may be different; therefore it is not absolutely true that our standard of beauty is anything more than the current cultural preference. There's the old joke about a woman who was considered plump in America and went to Mexico on vacation with a friend of hers that was a model. She noticed that the men mostly looked at her and not her slim friend. One day the model was taking a nap and the woman asked one of the local men who spoke English, you know in my country the men all look at my friend, but things seem different here. The man replied, s senorita, the bone is for the dog, the meat is for the man.

When I lived in Belize, I noticed that there were very few women who were thin by American standards and if they did get too thin, they were considered unhealthy. There might be some value to this way of thinking. For those who are thin by nature, this is a healthy physical state, but for the rest, losing too much weight is usually not in their best physical interest. In order to reduce body mass to a size that is not compatible with the body structure, but is with a young woman on the cover of Cosmo, one must eat less food than their body requires. In addition, the type of food that has become associated with weight loss is very often laden with chemicals and has very little fat. The brain needs a certain amount of fat to function properly, so is the idea that thinner is better a subconscious cultural plot to keep women weak?

The word food is used very loosely nowadays. Chemicals are not food and foods that have been processed and have lost most of their nutritional value are of little benefit, if not harmful. Artificial sweeteners are not food and should not be used in or with food...EVER. They are chemicals that upset the alkaline/acid balance of the body and can cause serious health issues and even addiction. I was once told by a substance abuse counselor that I met on vacation that the most difficult a substance addition to treat was that of Diet Coke. The combination of the ingredients and carbonation is a toxic, refreshing beverage with absolutely no nutritional value. In addition, artificial sweeteners make you crave carbohydrates, so you end up eating more of what will make you gain weight.

The current methods of farming food, coupled with environmental pollution and soil depletion due to single crop farming, fertilization and the seeds being used have robbed our food supply of many nutrients. Because of this we are required to take nutritional supplements to make up for what is not in our diet and should be. For those not supplementing their diet, cravings occur when the body is not getting what it requires to be healthy. Our bodies know what they want, there is no tricking our cells, therefore, even after we have eaten a whole plate of lettuce with only vinegar, we are still hungry. Big surprise!

Our beliefs have been infringed upon and little by little until we are programmed to behave in such a way that will allow someone besides us to profit. What do women eat when they are out in a restaurant, you guessed it, salad. Why is that? Don't get me wrong, I love salad, and I eat salad when I desire it, but I do not order or prepare it just because I think it looks good and people will think I am thinner because I eat salad all the time.

As a culture we are so focused on thinness that people are divided into two categories, those who are thin and those who are not. I realized this to be so one Sunday at the mall when I caught myself in the same trap. I was horrified that this was the mentality of my culture and even more that I had been participating in this belief. I was determined to begin to see others as perfectly where they are supposed to be, which is where they are. As I sat in front of the food court filled with throngs of people, consuming mostly junk food, I began to think about the situation at hand. For the most part it appeared that there were a number of things going on; first and foremost was that it was dinnertime and after a long afternoon of walking the mall and shopping many people had worked up an appetite or perhaps just felt like eating. I walked amongst the tables topped with burgers, pizza and French fries and noticed that there were excessive amounts of food in front of most people, even children. When I say excessive, I am basing it on how much food I personally care to consume at one sitting.

Most people in our culture eat more than they need, this is a fact. The amount of food we require will be communicated to us by our bodies. In other words, when our cells require nourishment, we get hungry. If we eat slowly, chewing and swallowing our food with care, we will know when we have had enough because we will not feel hungry anymore. The old adage of clean your plate is fine if there is not too much food on the plate to start with, but I have a sneaking suspicion that when that saying came into being, there was not the amount of food readily available as there is now. First of all, there was a time when food had to be prepared; people didn't just reach into the refrigerator or freezer or go out to a restaurant each time they felt hungry.

As a culture we eat a lot of processed food. When I lived in Belize the local residents were proud that they ate only fresh food that was prepared daily. Most ingredients were local and had not lost as much of their nutrients over time as a result of being stored or transported. Many of us have busy lifestyles in the United States, leaving us little time to prepare meals each day from scratch, but there is Love in home cooked meals, an ingredient that you will not find in prepared or processed food. Life force energy gets transferred into the meal providing us with vitality that we will never get from a fast food restaurant or a frozen dinner. Over time our bodies and health will reflect what we have chosen to eat.

Okay, so we have determined that eating too much of the wrong food is enough to account for the inability to remain at an optimal body weight, but there is more. The social pressure to be thin and the implications of being overweight, a term applied to a measurement that exceeds a number arrived at by the medical community and/or the fashion industry, has the result of creating low self-esteem and even self-hatred. Beauty is big business and there is a disproportionate amount of focus place on whether or not a person is beautiful. In fact the person can be amongst the worst scoundrels ever to live and if he or she is beautiful, they hold our attention and maintain our admiration. Inner beauty is highly under-valued and outer beauty, even though it can be bought is the measure of a person.

Larger people are kept separate so that thinner ones do not have to shop with them as anyone who wears Plus Size clothing will tell you. The Plus size departments are hidden in basements and corners of areas where no one goes. The clothes are not stylish, for the most part, and sometimes they even cost more, as if an extra two inches of fabric between a size 16 and 1X is going to make a difference in the cost of creating the garment. Why can't these garments be amongst the regular clothes? Are we to hide people away who are an inch larger that the privileged, acceptable thin ones?

If you do not like your body the way it is now, then you will never like it no matter what size you are. So in order to achieve your perfect body weight, the first thing you must do is start liking yourself right now, just the way you are. Begin to tell yourself that you Love yourself. Stand in front of the mirror and admire what you see and say the words out loud until you begin to feel the Love. Think of someone in your life that you love, whether it is a romantic love or love of a family member or friend and think of how you feel when you feel love for them. Then start feeling the same way when you look at yourself.

As you see your reflection, admiring and loving yourself, realize that there are two of you participating in this process; one is yourself, the you that is in your conscious life and the other one is the person that is talking to you or your higher or real self. The one that you refer to as "I", when you say I love you to yourself is your higher self. It is that part of you that has always loved you, was born loving you and always will love you no matter what. That part of you doesn't care how much you weight, the color of your hair or how many wrinkles you have, because that part of you is eternal and only exists in your body during this lifetime.

A young child that loves an adult does not judge the way that person looks, they just love them and in the same way, your higher self loves you unconditionally; so do not be afraid to tap into that feeling for yourself. Don't let the standards that society has set for beauty, which are fleeting and change from time to time, keep you from loving yourself. Do not allow yourself to be convinced that you are not a beautiful creation of the Universe. When your mother and father first saw you, they could not imagine anyone more beautiful so believe that you are healthy and lovely and that is the reality you will create for yourself. Be the vibrant being that you were born to be.

Water Everywhere!

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Water Everywhere!.

With water so plentiful around us, usually people question only the quality of water. Hardly anyone asks you seriously, whether you think you drink ENOUGH water. They ask, instead, what TYPE of water you drink, if they ask at all. Typically, the people who ask what type of water you drink have some sort of a water filter to sell.

I'm not selling water filters!

You can find many sources of information about the dangers of chlorine in our water, or the evils of fluoridation. There are, even, other cancer-causing agents added to our water by those who care less for your health than for their profit.

That is NOT the subject in this Viewpoint. I am writing about why you should drink more water than you are! I included some sixty pages about WATER in a Book I wrote - about heart disease! You might ask why is there a Section of that Book about the importance of drinking more water.

The answer is intriguing!

One reason is that you can prevent, even reverse, symptoms of heart disease with water alone!

That seems such a preposterous statement that I waited until I'd already written 200+ pages in that Book to spring it on the reader. YOU are getting that statement on this FIRST page. It does sound incredible, but hang on because by the end of these few pages I think you'll have such a new understanding of water that you will see how, in fact, drinking more water can reduce the chances of your having a stroke or heart attack!

You need not worry much about the quality of water until you are drinking as much as your body needs to stay healthy. That's why it's the wrong question (What type of water should I drink?). When you spend time on worrying about what type of water to drink and you don't know how much you should drink and why, you are, indeed, putting the cart before the horse.

Yes, I'm claiming, even without knowing you personally, that you are not drinking enough water every day to keep healthy - I'm claiming that whatever health problems you may have, and no matter what OTHER source they may have, fundamental to all of them is that your body is trying to operate with less water intake than it needs and wants.

That is the subject of this Viewpoint!

How Much Water Should You Drink?

So, how much do I think you SHOULD be drinking? Ten or more glasses per day!

Let's start with a simple definition of a "glass of water." That's about eight ounces. It should be considered "plain," not flavored or with fizzy bubbles. Coca Cola is NOT water. Actually, when you drink Coke or any soda drink, or coffee, or tea, you THINK you are getting a lot of water into your body. It seems true.

But the real truth is that the other ingredients in these beverages are often harmful to the body, and, whether harmful or not, virtually all beverages increase the body's need for water by MORE than the water taken in as part of these beverages. Thus, it takes MORE than one glass of plain water to provide what the body needs to handle one glass of Coke!

So, now that we are measuring in regular 8-ounce glasses of plain water, how would my recommendation of 10 glasses per day stack up?

I've done surveys. Here are the results:

There will be about 10% who never drink one plain glass of water during the day. They have justifications, such as the orange juice, beer, coffee or milk they drink. These people are in deep trouble! There will be about 30% who drink one or two glasses per day. There are about 40% who drink from three to five glasses per day - water, not other beverages. There will be about 15% who drink six to nine glasses per day. There will be about 5% who drink ten or more glasses per day.

You'd find, if you looked at the people in these various categories, that those groups drinking the most water have the least illness. You'd find those 40% of all people, drinking three or less glasses per day, take about 75% of all the drugs and medications of the entire US population! Yes, most of the drugs, most of the illness, attach to the vast majority of people -- drinking less than three plain glasses of water per day. People on welfare drink much less water than affluent people. Surely is not because water is more plentiful in rich people's homes!

Drugs & Illness - Increase Your Need Of Water!

Drugs, too, greatly increase the body's need for plain water. Almost every illness you have increases the body's need for water. Now, I've not even started explaining WHY this is true, or what goes on inside the body when you don't have enough water, but I wanted to get your attention. People who drink three or less glasses of water per day tend to be much more overweight than those drinking ten or more!

If you took a group of 100 people, each of them drinking less than three glasses of water per day, you'd find many of those people with serious medical problems. If you took another group, people each drinking ten or more glasses of water per day, the percentage of THEM having serious medical problems would be very much lower!

Water Does Not Cure Disease - Quite!

I'm not saying that water cures disease. I am saying that when you get ill, for any reason, the body's need for water increases AND your inclination often is to actually drink less water. If I could get you to change this one attitude about water, I would have done my miracle for the week! If, after reading this Viewpoint, you decide to give water a try, I think you'll become a believer! You can do this without a doctor's advice! Really!

This last point is one often missed in "self care." We are often too prone to depend on so-called experts, and doubt our own good sense. Hardly any doctor would ever disagree with your drinking more water - BUT, hardly any doctor would ever go out of his way to insist that you do!

And most doctors don't even know the important data about the role of water in the body. You'll see, after reading this Viewpoint, and applying some simple tests in your own life, how you can determine whether or not YOU need to drink more water. You'll be able to figure out, also, how much water YOU should drink.

Why Don't You Already Know This Data?

Once you understand the data in this Viewpoint you will realize that there is virtually NO traditional doctor who would benefit financially from encouraging you to follow the suggestions here. Heart disease kills more people than any other disease. People see their doctors about heart-related problems very often. You may not know it, but there are very rote, government-promoted techniques of handling people with the symptoms of heart disease.

The sequence is simple. The doctor says: Improve your diet and lose weight. They know it won't help much to tell you that, and they know very few people will benefit even if they do it. Next, if you are a failed dieter, they suggest group therapy! They know, for sure, that won't help, but they are trying hard to make you feel guilty so that when, finally, you have failed at their "sensible" suggestions, you'll be ready to cave in to the drug.

Next, they get into the money. They recommend drugs - Mevacor for the rest of your life, at a tidy $125 per month. If that doesn't work, and you have enough "health" insurance, they get you with by-pass surgery.

Water, drinking enough, could greatly reduce the need for these foolish treatments. But, the doctor doesn't suggest water, he suggests drugs. So, reluctantly, you give up on the "natural way" and accept the doctor's recommendation for pills. You start on the drugged route to health! Unfortunately, there isn't any way you can get there on that road. So, don't be surprised that the information you are reading here has not been offered to you before.

Basic Facts

The first thing to know about water in the body is that there is a lot of it. In fact the body is about 75% water and 25% solid materials. When we consider "blood," we may not think of that as mostly water, but it is. More than 90% of the blood is simple water.

There is also another entire system of another liquid in the body - called the lymph system - again virtually 100% water. The lymph moves around inside the body carrying away toxins from places they shouldn't be at.

Myth!

Almost any reference book you look at will describe water in the body as the stuff that dissolves and carries the really important things around. Here, for instance, is a typical quote: "Water dissolves and transports other nutrients throughout the body, aiding the processes of digestion, absorption, circulation, and excretion. It helps regulate body temperature."

If that were all, or even the most important thing, that water does in the body, I'd have nothing to write about here.

The above statement is true, but it represents about 10% of the truth! I won't have room for the full story on what water REALLY does in your body, but you can get more of that in my Book!

For instance, the energy created and stored in cells of your body comes from the physical passage of water into and out of the cell. If you have enough water (blood) in your body, the normal pressure in the arteries is HIGHER than it is inside the cells within the blood stream. This means there is a constant tendency for liquid to push inward - into the blood cell. As liquid moves into the cell, it moves through a small turbine-like generator that manufactures electrical energy which is used for running the cell. Some of that energy is used to pump the liquid, now carrying the waste products of the cell, back out into the blood stream.

If you don't have enough water in your diet, you actually have less blood in your body than you need, and the differential pressure, inside versus outside the cells in the blood stream, is less. That means there is LESS pressure pushing into the cell, and therefore there is LESS electrical energy being created.

Very few people know that the energy created by the cell is NOT created by some little furnace burning food, but by those electrical generators (turbines) being activated by the physical passage of water through them. This is just one of the very important functions of water in the body. If you don't have enough water, you don't have enough blood, and you will not have as much energy as you would otherwise have!

Fact! Hunger Sensation Is Common but False

Virtually everyone has experienced the sensation of hunger, or thinks he has. Consider the gargantuan consequences of the possibility that the sensation you think is "hunger," is very often not actually the body's need for food, but the body's need for water!

Some people have never experienced the classically defined sensation of "thirst," and most people experience that sensation very seldom. Here is a standard dictionary definition of "thirst." A sensation of dryness in the mouth and throat related to a need or desire to drink.

That definition is very incomplete and can be the source of a great deal of illness! Isn't that something! To claim that a simple dictionary definition is the source of illness! Let's look further. You thrive on sensations - you love 'em! Sensation is what you get paid in. You think you get paid with money? Well, money is mostly used to buy sensations.

The most valuable sensations most people seek are related to food and sex.

You respond to need sensations by eating and drinking. The body rewards you for this good behavior by giving back to you pleasure sensations.

Here's where the villain enters this picture. Picture a body whose messages on sensation are all screwed up. In this example when the body really needs water, it sends out a message which you perceive as one of hunger you feed the body some food. You get some immediate enjoyment from the taste and the social surroundings, but if your body really needs water, food is not often a very good source for it.

So, the body, realizing that it did not get the water it needed, sends out an even stronger message for more water. You perceive it as a sensation of more hunger and aggravate the problem by eating more food when the body simply needed water. You sure can get fat this way! After you've been drinking adequate water for several days you'll begin to regain your lost TRUE sensation of thirst - a slightly unpleasant metallic taste in the mouth. You'll also find that if you do feel hungry, and drink water first, very often the hunger sensation will mysteriously disappear! You see, it really wasn't hunger at all - but thirst. Food does NOT satisfy the need for water. Water will very often satisfy your sensation of hunger.

Here's an Experiment for You to Try

Now, back to the dry mouth perception; I can give you an experiment to try that will make a believer of you. You start, probably, with a belief that the dry mouth perception means that you are badly in need of more water in your body. Not quite true.

What is true is that the dry mouth condition is very HIGH up in the reactions of the body to a lack of water. You are functioning, most of the time, at a level so far below the dry mouth reaction that you may never get UP to the level of having a dry mouth. From this level of dehydration you would have to drink quite a bit of water to COME UP to the level where you start having a dry mouth. Try that. Drink more water for several hours - the best way is to take a few ounces every thirty minutes or so - so that you are drinking 10 or more glasses all through the day.

In fact, the best way to drink water is to carry one of those drinking bottles with you all the time. Just take sips out of it constantly. Refill that one-quart bottle many times during the day. Don't put flavor in it, for goodness sakes. Room temperature water is best. Once you've been on this level of water intake for a few hours, you'll find that if you MISS a drink of water, now, you may experience the dry mouth reaction.

In other words, when you are pouring far more water into your body than you normally have been doing, and slow that down slightly (stop for an hour), your body will react with the dry mouth reaction even though you have been putting far more water into the body than normal.

That should convince you that your "normal" water intake had your poor body so dehydrated that it didn't even have the energy to create the dry mouth condition. It's almost like being "below death!" Can you conceive of a body so ill that death would be an upscale action?

What Could Prevent You From Drinking More Water?

The very natural body demand that you urinate often comes right along with the behavior of drinking more water. If you will face this often unsociable act as being so healthy for you that you spread the word rather than avoid the toilet - you'll be far better off. There will be a few people whose lives are such that they can't go to the bathroom every thirty minutes (truck drivers and school teachers). Well, if you are one of those, I'm sorry for you. But, the majority of us only have to change our considerations and simply go to the bathroom more often.

But, recognize this as a sign of good health rather than an annoyance! Incidentally, you should drink a lot of water JUST before going to bed. Yes, you will have to get up during the night to pee, and you should drink more water even during the night.

You will find that you get back to sleep easily and sleep better.

After all, hardly mentioned here, one of the obvious benefits of drinking more water is that you are flushing FAR more of those terrible toxins you have in your body - out.

Reduce Heart Disease?

Your arteries have to be very flexible because the body is constantly shunting blood to one part, then another part. When you have food in your stomach, the body sends more blood toward the stomach. Some of that blood is converted into hydrochloric acid to help digest your food. Most people would find this sensible, but the related fact is usually overlooked.

When the body sends more blood toward the stomach, it reduces the amount of blood in other parts of the body. The control mechanism is the muscles in the arteries. The body closes down some arteries, and opens up others, thus regulating the flow of blood where the body thinks it's needed.

If you don't have enough water in your body, you won't have enough blood, and the body will have to ration water! It will! The Body will decide, based on its own priorities, where to send the blood. As those arteries close down, squeezing the blood into places the body thinks it is needed, the BLOOD PRESSURE in the closed area can actually become high and unhealthy. If you had enough water/blood, those arteries wouldn't have to close down so much, and the blood pressure wouldn't be so high. What an amazing, yet simple, explanation for high blood pressure.

The explanation for edema; is it the body's retention of water? Just that the body is worried sick about the dehydration and is holding on to all the water it can.

What does the doctor do? He gives a pill that makes you pee more. He tells you to drink less fluid! This is exactly the wrong advice! If you have puffy ankles, drink more water. One more!

When an individual cell feels endangered, by a shortage of water, guess what it does. It manufactures extra cholesterol. Yes! Cholesterol is the natural defense mechanism of individual cells. They create it to thicken their cell walls and protect the cell against losing the little water it has.

So, you have high cholesterol? Take a drug that increases your need for water! Stupid!

Instead, drink more water and reduce the need for cells to manufacture so much extra cholesterol. Then there won't be that "extra cholesterol" leaking out of the cell, into the blood stream, to give you a scare. Oh, there is so much more to this, but you've now had a taste.

You can drink more water, and it will reduce the chances of your having a heart attack, high blood pressure, or a stroke. It sure won't cost you much to try, will it!

Backaches Too?

Yes, amazing but often true! Backaches, arthritis, and joint pains are very often caused by an accumulation of toxins in the joints. It's your lymph system that is supposed to keep these areas clean. Inadequate water means insufficient lymph, and thus not enough cleansing in those joints. The body creates pain - trying to wake you up to the problem. You, too often, put more drugs and food into the body, increasing the toxic overload, while ignoring the very simple remedy of drinking more water, increasing the cleansing.

Pee Your Way to Improved Health!

You see that I can't make a penny trying to sell you anything with this advice. Yet I believe it will be one of the greatest health improvements you can make for your body. I would say that distilled water (or water cleared with a very good filter) with colloidal trace minerals added would probably be the best type of water to drink.

Top 5 DietLifestyle Adjustments to Lose Weight

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts Top 5 DietLifestyle Adjustments to Lose Weight.

Hey whats up guys, today we would like to go over our top 5 ways that you can adjust your diet/lifestyle in order to help you achieve your weight loss goals. These are going to be simple yet effective adjustments that anybody can implement into their daily routine and quickly see results. So let's get to it!!!

1. Reduce your daily sugar intake -

As I recall , the last I heard the average Americans sugar intake is roughly 25% , now that is a problem when you consider that the daily recommendation is 10%. So the average person is consuming more than twice their daily recommended value, leading us down a path of degenerative diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and many more undesirable conditions. We recommend eliminating sodas such as coke and pepsi, also try to reduce/eliminate consumption of processed foods and unhealthy snacks.

2. Alcohol consumption

Lets be honest with ourselves in saying that we all like to have a good time, and with that comes alcohol. This is an area that we can all benefit from greatly. If we are going to go out and have a good time lets keep it to a minimum. It has been proven that 1-2 drinks a night for women and 2-3 drinks for men is ideal, but anything beyond that becomes detrimental to your health. But if you are going to drink then try this, this is something that we can do and that is to try and keep a low carb attitude about drinking alcohol. For example drink low carb beer when you are out, but if you are more a liquor/mix drink kind of guy or gal then try and mix it with soda water or one of your favorite diet drinks with no sugar. Doing that alone will greatly reduce the amount of carbs/sugar you consume while drinking alcohol.

3. Fast food

It is well known to us and the rest of the world that America is a fast food nation. There is no pretty way to put this, fast food needs to pretty much be eliminated from our diets completely! We do realize that we are all in a hurry and that makes the fast food free diet nearly impossible, so we go through our local burger joint here and there. Our advice to you, and it has shown in our diet, if you go to these places you need to make a couple of changes on how you go about eating there. First you need to cut the fries. I know there good and I love them too, but they are killing us as Americans. Simply substitute them for a yogurt or a fruit cup. Also if you grab a burger (We recommend the grilled chicken) take off one piece of bread(open face or European style) or remove both pieces of bread altogether and be done with the white bread that contains absolutely zero nutritional value. And lastly, if you are going to order a drink please get the unsweet tea or a sugar free beverage that is offered at the particular establishment in which you are dining.

4. Late night eating habits

I feel very strongly about this one, as it is understandable that as your day comes to a close energy use begins to dwindle and your body is preparing to shut down for the nights rest. When you are asleep your body is in a repair/recovery mode and your metabolism is almost at a standstill. Really watch the carbohydrate intake during the final 3-5 hours before you go to sleep, usually most of those carbs will end up being stored as fat because your body will not require their use for energy at this point in your day. Attempt to get your calories in these final hours of your day from lean meats, veggies, and maybe a slower digesting protein such as casein protein.

5. Begin an exercise routine immediately

If you work on points 1-4 a healthy, positive and more energetic lifestyle awaits you. But if you really want to complete the lifestyle adjustment then a minimum of 3-4 days of exercise per week is absolutely necessary. In fact the American College of Sports Medicine recommends adding a cardio/strength training program to your daily regimen. Anywhere from 3-5 days a week of cardio training for a minimum of 20 minutes and 5-8 strength training exercises will do wonders for any individual looking to lose or maintain their current weight. For exact recommendations check out this link .

So guys and girls implement these adjustments into your diet and lifestyle and I know you will be on your way to a better you.

Vegetable juice extracts work as the building stones of the body. Good tasting vegetable juice extract, and likely the easiest for beginners who want to start habit of drinking vegetable juices is carrot orange juice. It is furthermore a good groundwork for other juices. This juice is very sugary, certain thing that may have got away from one's eye until he stops consuming (refined) sugar! Sugar wrecks the flavour buds, but one time it has been taken from diet, then subtle tastes of natural foods are also blown away in a symphony. Don't fear about the skin turning pale. This is not going to happen except you spend many of orange carrot juice extract, & still, it isn't a hurtful condition; in detail, this is a good stuff! Contrary to well liked opinion, it is not beta carotene that is present in juice extract that makes the skin orange colored. Basically It is the effect of toxins & vintage bile being issued from body via skin which gives the orange or yellow color to the skin. Once these toxins are taken, the skin will come back to its usual hue no issue how much orange carrot juice extract someone uses. Consider this thing, has any individual ever turned dark from consuming coffee or coke in excess? So if you have such doubts in mind then in fact you are doing nothing good by avoiding vegetable juice benefits.

The Winner (Chapter 3)

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts The Winner (Chapter 3).

Elizabeth would make him all that he should be, wrapping him around her finger and how she seemed to like the type who could be made to do as she pleased. John, all in all was a small town boy come to the big city; looking for what he could not get in that "hick town" of his and how he would admire her by giving her all she wanted. This while she would mold him to be the sort of man who would suit the image she wanted so desperately of the sophisticated uptown student. He naturally with his job and money would help her get to what she sought for herself and then once this was done she would leave him but that would be latter as she by then would have as she put it "bigger fish to fry".

Elizabeth between reading and planning let time go by to the point that she forget about her hunger or at least till John brought over the salad she had ordered which he placed in front of her. "Here is your meal, young lady and may you enjoy it, now if you will excuse me, I got to go clean up as soon we will be closing up." were the words she heard as she looked up and saw John and then the food. The sight added to the smell reminded her of how little she had eaten all day. "Okay but since you are not too busy tonight why don't you come over and talk to me about this book." Elizabeth replied as she held up the book she was reading. John laughed to himself as he could see again he was being asked for his help in writing another term paper which he on more than one occasion had been paid for by many a student from Elizabeth's school; who had left till the last moment what they should not have procrastinated on. "Sure, I will; besides I love that book. Listen just let me clean the stove and I'll be with you shortly." John replied as he went off.

Elizabeth knew she was hungry. This she had no doubts about and as she saw her hamburger with chili on it, she took to it in a way that almost finished this large burger in three bites. Her trying to eat it while it was still hot, given she was not really one who enjoyed meat when it was not. She found it strange how she enjoyed the taste of a hamburger with chili on it, as she had never been a big fan of American burgers but being that it was hot and fresh, made it just right. There is something about taking a bit of food when we have ignored our hunger that makes the mind feel how needy for nutrition the body was, which was the case with Elizabeth who was on her last bite of her hamburger when John came back and took a seat next to her at the counter. John said nothing as he sat next to her and picked up the book she had shown him. John laughed as he looked at her and started their conversation as they sat next to each other with "Crime and Punishment" between them while Elizabeth in the mean time took turns eating her salad and drinking her diet Coke.

-Well, I see you were hungry today, I hope you didn't eat it to fast to enjoy it.

-Yeah, I was hungry but can we get to the book? I am almost finished with it and I hope you can read my term paper on it and just tell me what you think. I will pay you the usual ten dollars, or so that is what I hear is your fee for looking over a term paper.

-Yeah, that's about right and tell me what do you think of Raskolnikow?

-What do I think of who? Oh, sorry that is the main character?

-Yes, that is who.

-Well, it is hard to say. In a way I kinda feel sorry for him because of the conditions he was living in but in a way I don't coz he did have a chance to make money by translating some work and didn't and then he goes out and kills two women. Ok, one was because she was at the wrong place at the wrong time but still and if you really think about it..... the woman, the pawn lady wasn't cheating him or anything like that but then again his poverty.

- Ok I see, you have been reading the book which is good and have something to say about it, Well, what's important is to describe the story; by telling the details of importance to the story and what they mean to you and by the way, I feel at the end the court is a little to lenient by giving him only eight years.

- I can't believe you went and told me the ending (with a laugh as their heads got closer, with Elizabeth putting her hand on John's lap, at first not even realizing it) well never mind I am going to read it just the same.

Perhaps encouraged by Elizabeth's hand on his leg or her presence so near to him as had been the night he had not been able to get out of his memory or his new found fortune which gave rise to his confidence, John grabbed Elizabeth's small hand. The one which she had placed on his lap and looked her in the eye, making Elizabeth of the idea that she would be kissed. It was not so much that she minded but she had not expected such a reaction, as she and John looked at each other in a loss for words. It being as if they had forgotten the subject of their conversation.

-Well, (both in mirth, still holding each other's hand) why don't you finish the book. I see you are close to the end and then I can help you write, your term paper and give some pointers. But now finish your salad young lady!

Speaking as he picked up the fork and placed a piece of lettuce in Elizabeth's willing mouth which opened to receive what she was being feed. After which Elizabeth took the fork from John's hand.

- I can do that myself, thank you just the same.

- Well, I just wanted to help out, and by the way I think you really got a good understanding of "Crime and Punishment.".

- Listen, I've just spend most of the day reading this book, so excuse me if I don't want to talk about it. (Elizabeth, speaking as she ate her salad)

- So what would you like to talk about? I got an idea, tell me how is your dancing going? I heard from one of your friends that you're quite a dancer.

- Ok, there is something I don't mind talking about, my dancing is going well, actually though I can't decided weather to go for classical or modern.

There was something in the air that evening between Elizabeth and John; perhaps it was the news that John would soon be rich or the fact that they were finally talking after a period of ignoring one another that brought back sentiments shared on what had almost been there night to make love. Elizabeth for her part saw that John did not think worse of her for what had happened between them which was what could be classified as unconsummated stirred up lust, leaving both of them with certain regret as to not only what had not occurred but a slight one as to what had. This was precisely how it had started between them; the way it was again coming about with both looking at each other as time neared closing. Smiles, laughs, hands around one another and above all looks that could not have made their message more clear with eyes that let the other see what was behind them. Elizabeth continued to eat her salad in a way that made her feel, shy about the way John was looking at her.

- But why don't you tell me what you're planning to do with all that money or haven't you thought about it yet?

- Well, actually I have thought about it. What I am going to with it is basically, nothing just put it in the bank or invest in something that would give me a yearly interest that I could more or less live on and then with my job that should give me enough to live well. (seeing the look of surprise on Elizabeth's face with some astonishment of his own) Look, I don't know how much I am going to get and remember or maybe you did not know that such money is seriously taxed and then if the sum is real big you don't get it all at once but through the course of time.

- I didn't know that, well about the taxes I knew but not that one did not get the whole sum right away. It doesn't really seem fair, does it? I mean they promise all that money and then you don't get it right away. I know if I had that much money I would go out shopping or maybe start a business.

- (laughing) Well, see that's the difference between us, you come from a rich family. I don't; you can go out and spend the whole bundle and know that your father will always have it to give to you, for what ever you want; like your education and what not. Me, on the other hand can't just start spending and you know what is funny about this?

- No, tell me. (Elizabeth speaking with some sarcasm in her voice, which John detected but ignored as he continued)

- There are people who win millions in the lottery and after some years end up having less than they did before. - You mean they spend the money and have nothing to show for it later?

- No, I mean worse.

- What could be worse than that?

- They have less money than they had before they won the lottery, (seeing a look of confusion on Elizabeth) see what happens is they feel like millionaires.

- Well aren't they?

- Yes, they are but they start spending even more than they have and they are getting, as they don't get the whole bundle right away so they start borrowing on it, and not to mention that they give up their jobs.

- But they don't need their jobs coz they got so much money.

- Well, see what happens when people stop working they not only stop making money but have more time to spend money and don't forget those friends, who are always just that as long as they can borrow or get something. Really, I read about a person who ended up with much less after having won the lottery. Of course, many years later than he had before because in the time he stopped working and he was a lawyer too, so he lost a lot of his clients and build up a lot of debts and now he is having a hard time getting back his job, since he hasn't practiced law in over 10 years.

- Wow, I never knew it could be like, that so you're saying this money could be a blessing or a curse? Depending on how you treat it.

- Yes, you got the idea, so that is why all I'm gonna do is get an apartment, at a good mortgage which is about the same amount I would be paying in rent and a car and that's it. Rest is going in the bank or in to an investment firm.

There will be no going crazy and shopping trips of gold watches and expensive vacations; just living well. All possible on interest, even if I can only get 5% a year and plus my salary as a teacher.

The Ugly Truth About Healthy Sugar

Diet Coke Nutrition Facts The Ugly Truth About Healthy Sugar.

Here are a few things to know about sugar and why it may be creating weight loss resistance, meaning, no matter how much you do 'right' the weight isn't coming off:

1. Isn't There Such Thing As Healthy Sugar Like Honey And Agave?

One common response to being told to eliminate sugar is to say, "Ok, I'll watch my sugar intake by switching to healthy sugars like honey and agave."

Excess sugar consumption has been linked to a whole host of diseases. But one of the most interesting effects has to do with nutrient absorption.

2. Sugar And Your Digestive System: How Sugar Could Be Damaging Your Ability To Improve Your Health

When it comes to your digestive system, excess sugar, even moderate amounts interferes with its ability to absorb nutrients. It is a whole lot more complicated than this. But once you understand that all forms of excess sugar "mess with your system" you will be much more likely to ditch the honey, agave, even fruit for a period of time.

There are very few people who can't benefit from proper absorption of vitamins, minerals and nutrient. However, until recently, there have not been many studies showing how high sugar intake effect effects nutrient absorption. One recent study helped establish that high sugar intake "impaired" the digestive process.

3. How Much Sugar Is Too Much?

According to the American Heart Association, they recommend no more than 100 calories of added sugar a day for a woman, a little more for a man. To give you a sense, 100 calories is equivalent to a large apple.

Now I can hear your next question: But you can't possibly talking about the natural fructose in sugar. Apples, pears, blueberries all get a free pass, right? No. Wrong.

Fructose, glucose, sucrose, sugar, honey, agave, it's all sugar. Yes, fruit has some extremely beneficial micronutrients, and of course you don't treat Coke and an Apple the same. However, historically fruit was not meant to be consumed in daily unlimited quantities.

For weight loss and disease reversal, limit your fruit to one serving a day, while dramatically increasing the greens and non-starchy veggies.

Another key concept: A very small minority of people actually stick to the recommendation of only 100 calories of added sugar a day. Almost all processed foods contain hidden sugars. Sugar is everywhere, and it is tough to avoid.

4. There Is A PILE Of Research In This Area To Support The Claim Against Sugar

There are different studies out there that show how different nutrients are effected by sugar. One interesting thing to note about JJ's advice are the consistent results we are seeing from people following her cleanse protocol, in conjunction with the concept of nutrient density.

It would seem that when people eliminate toxins, it helps us better absorb all the nutrient dense foods we are now eating.

5. Does A Nutrient Dense Diet Give You A License To Eat Junk?

What is interesting is that we are seeing people who eat nutrient dense diets, but with high levels of sugar--who are having some health issues like high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Not only do some people think that certain sugars are "healthy"-- many people think that as long as they eat plenty of greens, it gives them a free pass in other areas of their diet. Your numbers will speak for themselves.

In fact, new research links excess sugar consumption to unhealthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels. According to a new study:

"Excess sugar is known to contribute to obesity, diabetes, and other conditions linked to heart disease, and now new research links it to unhealthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels."

6. The Link Between Sugar And Cancer

To give you one example (among many), consumption of sugar and sugar-sweetened foods has been show to increase the risk of pancreatic cancer in a prospective study:

"Frequent consumption of sugar and high-sugar foods may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by inducing frequent postprandial hyperglycemia, increasing insulin demand, and decreasing insulin sensitivity." April 20th 2010

This is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sugar consumption. There is a ton of older research as well showing the harmful effects of sugar, but we wanted to show you some of the recent research. If you have any questions about how sugar is effecting your health, visit your doctor and get your numbers checked.
